SEMICON West 2025 marked a new chapter as the event moved from San Francisco to Phoenix, reflecting the city’s growing importance in semiconductor manufacturing with major players like Intel, TSMC, and Amkor. The expanded show drew strong participation and enthusiasm, underscoring Arizona’s emergence as a leading hub for U.S. chip production and innovation as SEMI launches its new alternating host-city format between Phoenix and San Francisco each October.

Honored for its breakthrough cryogenic etch technology enabling next-generation 3D NAND manufacturing essential to the AI era. October 1, 2025 — Powering the Future: How the SEMI Foundation Is Building America’s High-Tech Workforce. The SEMI Foundation is tackling the U.S. semiconductor talent gap through programs that inspire, prepare, and connect diverse communities to high-tech careers. Initiatives like High Tech U, VetWorks, and the National Network for Microelectronics Education provide hands-on training, mentorship, and career pathways. New efforts like SEMIquest bring interactive STEM learning to schools, sparking early interest in microelectronics. 

October 1, 2025 — SEMIquest Connects Arizona Students to the Future of Chips. SEMIquest, a new interactive exhibit at the Arizona Science Center, is inspiring local middle and high school students with hands-on experiences in chipmaking, coding, and circuit design.
