Sree Koratala is the Vice President and Head of Technology, Web Scale Accounts for Ericsson in North America. In this role, Koratala is responsible for advising technology companies – ranging from Fortune 500 companies to startups – on strategic growth, with a focus on 5G, Cloud, Network Transformation and helping to bring connectivity to the next billion users and devices.
Prior to her current role, Koratala was Vice President of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) business for Ericsson in North America, where she led 5G readiness initiative for Tier-1 operators across the US as well as numerous network transformations. She has held multiple leadership roles at Ericsson, including Head of Digital Business Solutions for the AT&T sales team, and Head of Operations Support Solutions for North America.
Koratala previously spent nearly a decade in radio access networks (RAN) where she was the award-winning technical lead for the first 3G UMTS introduction in North America with AT&T, led design for T-Mobile’s nationwide 3G radio access and transport network, and successfully introduced LTE technology for Verizon working as Director of LTE/EPC Solutions.
She holds a master’s degree in computer science from Texas A&M University, and executive leadership and management certificates from Southern Methodist University. Koratala was recently recognized with the Bay Area CIO of the Year Award in the Rising Star category by Silicon Valley Business Journal. She heads the Diversity & Inclusion hub at Ericsson in Silicon Valley. She is also passionate about education in STEM and has volunteered her time teaching robotics classes for young students.
