David Kanter is the founder of Real World Insights, where he provides technical expertise in computer architecture, machine learning, microprocessors, power delivery and management, and graphics. His services include forecasting technology roadmaps and adoption; competitive analysis; intellectual property (e.g., patents) strategy, development, and assessment; and due diligence. His past clients include AMD, Cavium, HP, Intel, Microsoft, Nvidia, Qualcomm as well as a variety of smaller companies, law firms, and public-market investors. David has been a consulting expert for over 10 patent and litigation engagements.
Previously David co-founded a microprocessor startup, was an early employee at Aster Data Systems (acquired by Teradata), and was a senior editor for the Microprocessor Report. He has four patents on image sensing systems, aerial imaging, and photogrammetry with several more pending in the US and EU. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Chicago with honors in Mathematics with a specialization in Computer Science, and honors in Economics.
