Tip of the Month: Presentations and Demonstrations—A Powerful Strategy for Maximizing Effectiveness and ROI
Of all your marketing programs, tradeshows offer the ultimate sales opportunity. Compressing your market in time and space like no other communications medium, tradeshows can bring you face-to-face with more qualified prospects in three days than most sales organizations see in three months. But how can you translate this opportunity into sales? Click here to read on!

Frequently Asked Question
Do I need to submit booth drawings for approval?

If your booth is over 16 feet in height, in a height restricted area, under the South Hall archways or contains a second story, booth drawings MUST be submitted to the Moscone Fire Marshal for review. Hard copy booth plans must be submitted by June 2 directly to the Moscone Fire Marshal. Refer to page 3-4 of the Rules and Regulations for detailed information. Please note: The Fire Marshal only checks for safety—and does not cross-check against SEMI Rule and Regulations. If your company wants to make sure the booth design is in compliance with SEMI Rules and Regulations, please submit booth renderings by May 16 to Lyn Geary at SEMI, Email lgeary@semi.org for approval

Housing at SEMICON West 2008—BEWARE!
It has come to our attention that some exhibitors have been contacted by phone or email, by other Exhibitor Housing representatives offering housing rates for SEMICON West. Please be reminded that Convention Management Resources (CMR) is the only official housing service provider to SEMICON West. CMR works hard to guarantee the best rates, reservation flexibility, amenities exclusive to SEMICON West participants, and personalized exhibitor housing assistance. If you receive any solicitations from other vendors incorrectly identifying themselves as the official SEMICON West Housing representative, we ask that you please contact SEMI Show Management immediately. In the meantime, please contact CMR for all your SEMICON West housing needs at email: SEMI2008Housing@cmrus.com / Tel: 1.800.421.2499

Exhibitor Services Manual:
One copy of the Exhibitor Services Manual has been sent to the primary contact of all exhibiting companies. If you have not yet received your manual, please contact Leslie Schade at lschade@semi.org / tel: 1.408.943.6978 for assistance.

Exhibitor Services Hub now in GATEWAY Hall! A Convenient One-Stop-Shop For all Onsite Operations Needs.
In a concerted effort to provide exhibitors with a convenient one-stop-shop for your onsite operations needs, SEMI has consolidated all exhibitor related services for the North and South Hall, into one central location. The new Exhibitor Services Center will be located in Gateway Hall, where you will find the vendor services, Security office, the Show Management Office, and the 2009 Space Selection Office. (Please note that the Exhibitor Services Desk for the West Hall remains on West Hall – Level 3.)

Priority Point System—Standardized Across the board
In an effort to streamline SEMI policy across our SEMICON Expositions for our exhibitors, SEMICON West will begin awarding additional priority points for the size of the booth space. Beginning 2008, primary exhibiting SEMI members will now earn 1/4 point per each 100 sq. feet of booth space contracted, in addition to the 1 point for participation. This new point structure will be accounted for when the SEMICON West 2009 space selection appointment times are processed.

Click to learn more about the additional benefits of SEMI Membership, or contact customerservice@semi.org / Tel: 1.408.943.6901.

Call for Entries: Best of West Awards—Deadline approaching
We are pleased to announce the first annual Best of West Awards, to be presented to winning exhibiting companies at SEMICON West 2008.

The Best of West Awards will recognize important new product and technology developments in the microelectronics industry. Finalists and winners will be selected by an independent panel of highly qualified judges from the industry, academia, and the trade media. Selections made on the basis of the product or technology's scientific achievement, societal impact and benefits, engineering, or financial impact on the industry. Submissions are free and open to all SEMICON West exhibitors.

Consideration for the Best of West Awards will be limited to products, services, and technologies publicly introduced from May 1, 2008 through SEMICON West 2008 (July 15–17, 2008). For more information on qualifications and submission instructions, please visit www.semiconwest.org/ProgramsandEvents/BestofWest.

Note: The Call for Entries closes May 1, 2008.

Event Marketing Opportunities from Immersa Marketing (Formerly the Chase Group) EMO's: Onsite Marketing Works!
SEMICON West 2008 is just three months away. It’s time to start polishing your onsite marketing plan. Perhaps you should consider what other exhibitors already know! Companies such as Applied Materials, Cymer, Advantest, Semitool and Parker-Hannifin have proven they can improve branding efforts and boost booth traffic by utilizing onsite advertising. These exhibitors, and many more use escalator decals, attendee bags, lanyards and banner locations to put their company name in front of attendees in high traffic areas. It’s not too early to secure a plan. Marketing your business beyond the booth is a must-do at this dynamic legacy event!

We’ve got plenty to offer, including banner space and backlit ad panels. Now is also a great time to discuss custom opportunities. Drive more traffic to your booth at SEMICON West 2008!
